PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: CONTRACTOR PRE-QUALIFICATION BID PROCESS

Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District has contracted with Colbi Technologies, Inc. to provide a no-cost web-based process for formal and informal (CUPCCA) bidding prequalification called QualityBidders. Prequalification will be required pursuant to California Assembly Bill (AB) 1565 which went into effect on January 1, 2014. NOTICE TO SOLICIT CONTRACTORS for the District’s Informal Bidding contractor list per Public Contract Code Section 22034.

On December 9, 2010 the Board of Education of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District resolved to establish an Informal Bidding Procedure per Public Contract Code section 22032. In accordance with that code, the District is soliciting contractors to register with the District to bid on these projects. Informal projects are generally defined as facilities projects with an estimated value of less than $175,000 thousand dollars. Contractors on the list will be notified directly of all informal project opportunities within their trade. All bidders will be required to meet prequalification requirements prior to any bid submittals. Qualified Contractors must be licensed in the state of California, maintain workers compensation insurance, general liability insurance, pay prevailing wage rates, annual registration relative to Public Works reform SB 854 and comply with other state requirements.

The District has contracted with QualityBidders to administer the registration process at no-cost via the web. All interested contractors can register with QualityBidders at www.qualitybidders.com to be added to the District’s informal project listing.

Franklin ES WPFD & HVAC Project Bid #18.06.ES

Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District of Los Angeles County (SMMUSD) will receive sealed bids from contractors holding a type “B” license, on the following: Bid #18.06.ES-DSA#03-118308, Franklin Elementary School – Windows, Paint, Floors, Doors & HVAC Project at Franklin Elementary School. This scope of work is estimated to be between $5,250,000 - $5,750,000 and includes construction of, Abate and replace specific existing windows with new painted storefront aluminum windows and re-glaze the remaining windows in buildings D, E, F & G, Abate and replace carpet and tile flooring, Paint all previously painted interior surfaces and exterior trim, ADA renovation of selected restrooms and ramps along the path of travel, New HVAC systems to all buildings and New campus wide Fire Alarm and other associated improvements. All bids must be filed in the SMMUSD Facility Improvement Office, 2828 4th Street, Santa Monica, California 90405 on or before 1/17/18 at 2:00 PM at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened. Each bid must be sealed and marked with the bid name and number. Bidders can attend a Non-Mandatory Job Walk to be held at the site, on 12/18/17 at 10:30 AM. All General Contractors and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (M/E/P) Subcontractors must be pre-qualified for this project. MMHS Campus Improvements LLB RFQ/P #18.05.BB/ES

Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District of Los Angeles County (SMMUSD) will receive sealed proposals from contractors holding a type “B” license, on the following: RFQ/P #18.05.BB/ES-DSA#03-113456, #03-117640 & #03-118052, Malibu Middle High School – Campus Improvements Lease-leaseback (LLB) Project at Malibu Middle High School. This scope of work is estimated to be between $30,000,000 - $40,000,000 and includes three primary scopes of work. The first scope is a three level 45,700 SF library/classroom/administration building demolition of portable buildings, and 42,400 SF of open air high and middle school commons area, along with a 62-stall parking lot. The second scope is a 19,400 SF two-story 12 classroom building, with exterior stairways and elevator. The third scope of work is renovations to the 20 classrooms in Building D. Renovations will include replacement of windows, doors, and flooring as well as painting. Associated landscaping and off-site street improvements are also included. All proposals must be submitted to the SMMUSD Facility Improvement Office, 2828 4th Street, Santa Monica, California 90405 on or before 12/13/17 at 3:00 PM. Each proposal must be sealed and marked with the RFQ/P name and number. All interested firms must attend the Mandatory Pre-Response meeting to be held at the SMMUSD FIP Office on 11/8/17 at 10:00 AM.
